Free Gambling With Comps: How To Manage It

September 28th, 2008

The prospect of getting free gambling from the casinos is an attractive one indeed, but just how do you manage to get them? As it turns out gambling comps are the key to this, and they offer players the chance for lots of free gambling opportunities. Of course comps do not really let you gamble for free, but the bonuses that they offer–bonuses that you would normally have to pay for out of your own pocket–will save you a lot of money that you can then use for gambling. These gambling comps come in the form of free drinks, free meals, and even tickets to lavish shows and entertainment events.

The way that comps work is actually quite simple. All casinos typically have a cut out of every dollar that you spend in betting. If you bet $5 per hand for example, you are actually losing about $5 every hour that you play. Cocktails normally cost only $5 each, so they are already making money off you. They can then pass some of this profit on to you in the form of gambling comps, which translates into free gambling for you!

Early Casino: Not For Casino Gambling Only

June 16th, 2008

Interestingly enough, the early casinos did not necessarily feature casino gambling, especially in the early days. One of the most famous establishments to use the casino designation–the Copenhagen Casino–was actually a theatre that was used for public gatherings as much as it was used for public performances. In fact, this building was the site of the mass public meetings to plan the 1848 revolution, which eventually led to the establishment of Denmark’s constitutional monarchy. The building itself was primarily known as a theater up until 1937.

Another famous “casino”–the Hanko Casino in Finland–was never used for casino gambling activities either. One of the most familiar structures in the country, it actually served as a banquet hall for the scores of Russian nobles who visited the spa resort in the area in the late 19th century.
